-Individuals may nominate themselves 

-Nominations for multiple teacher of the year awards and/or special awards are acceptable if the criteria is met  

-Letters of recommendations for the award candidates can not be from any awards committee members (due to a conflict of interest)

-One letter of recommendation is required for awards: health toy, pe toy, and young professional

-Award candidates who are eligible for 2 teacher of the year awards will be given the award in which they received the highest score.  The individual will not be eligible for both awards 

-Award winners can receive 1 TOY and 1 Special Award maximum per year  (Special awards include Charles “Chick” Hungerford Leadership Award, D. Marian Franck Service Award, Arnold b. Fink Memorial Award. Young Professional Award)

-H&PE professionals that have committed to longstanding service in the profession for at least 10 years are Eligible for the Arnold B. Fink Memorial Award, & D. Marian Franck Service Award (Charles "Chick" Hungerford Leadership Award requires 15 years)

-H&PE professionals that have a maximum of 10 years teaching experience are eligible for the Young Professional Award

-Award winners will be given a 1 year membership to SHAPE PA   

-Non winner nominees of Teacher of the Year & Special Awards will be eligible for 2 years

-The SHAPE PA LLB Executive Board has the right to nominate a candidate for a special award and surprise this candidate if they are chosen to receive the award by the committee.   The candidates qualifications must be briefed in an application by the SHAPE PA LLB Executive Board for the committee to review

-Minimum scores are required to be considered to receive the award

-Award winners can not be on the awards committee due to a conflict of interest

-Award winners can only receive the same award once in a lifetime
